Digital Campaigner - Unions NSW 20170615

Unions NSW is looking for a Digital Campaigner – join our team!

Who we are

Unions NSW is the peak council of trade unions in NSW representing over 600,000 members and 60 affiliated unions and trades and labor councils and is part of the broader trade union movement.  Unions NSW completed an organisational review in 2016 and is now seeking to develop a digital team to complement our strategic plan.

Who you are

  • You’re passionate about social justice and see collective action as the solution.
  • You’ve been involved in activism and campaigns.
  • You’ve run digital campaigns and have experience moving people from being online activists to being actively involved in social, political and/or community campaigns.
  • You instinctively get visual content – and you have the technical skills to pull it off.
  • You have a way with words, and can translate complex workplace announcements into galvanizing communication.
  • You’re impact driven – you get an adrenaline rush from getting stuff done and seeing results.
  • You’re patient, a team-player, and comfortable working across a range of campaigns at the same time.

What you’ll do

This is an activist position with the aim of increasing the level of engagement with union members and supporters to move them through planned and managed “supporter journeys” to actively participate in various Unions NSW campaigns and actions.

The Digital Campaigner will be responsible for excellence in digital campaign development, implementation and ongoing campaign management.  All work will be completed and implemented at a fast pace with excellence in quality, process discipline and attention to detail.

You will also manage the digital component of Unions NSW campaigns through digital tools including member/supporter CRMs, websites, eDMs, digital actions and social media campaigns.

The Digital Campaigner is expected to develop strong relationships with internal Unions NSW staff, especially the campaigns team and to collaborate with relevant contractors on external communications and provide advice to affiliated unions.

Salary:   $77,162.10 - $86,807.89 plus superannuation based on skills and experience.
