AMWU Members Helpdesk: Full Time Outbound Officer - $65,000 plus super

The AMWU is one of the largest manufacturing unions in Australia. We represent members in the metals trades, printing, paper industry, vehicle industry, food and confectionary as well as technical trades and professions.

It is because of our great desire to maintain communication with our members; the Australian Manufacturing Workers’ Union has a full time vacancy in the Members Helpdesk for a full time Outbound Officer who will assist in the coordination of our call campaigns with relation to core strategies used to strengthen our Union objectives, values and services amongst our national membership base.

AMWU Helpdesk is located at the Union’s National Office in Granville NSW. The Outbound Helpdesk Officer will liaise and report to the Senior Helpdesk Coordinator and be required to assist with driving the team and our campaign initiatives as well as reporting on campaign results and outcomes.  

The position involves taking part in the implementation and execution of outbound call campaigns, as well as providing supervision and support of the Helpdesk outbound operations and staff. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare, conduct, monitor and report on calls as per allocated scripts and objectives of the campaign.
  • Assist with script writing, target setting and scheduling, to ensure successful completion of campaigns is performed in a timely manner.
  • Supervision, training and quality assurance of Outbound Helpdesk Officers and operations.
    • Navigation of AMWU Systems and Database Management.
    • Contacting our Members & Delegates in relation to surveys with members in relation to their views on the current industrial climate, issues within their workplace and general camapigns as per the needs of the AMWU

Hours of Work

11.30am to 8pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am – 5pm on Friday.

Selection Criteria

Successful applicants should have an interest to trade unionism and demonstrate the following:

-       Previous call centre experience

-       Supervisory experience is desirable.

-       Advanced Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel & Outlook) & Database Management

-       Time Management & Organisation

-       High standard of customer service

-       Excellent communication skills & confident phone manner

-       Strong Analytical skill

-       Team based skills

-       Positive attitude under pressure

-       Motivated & Solution focused

-       Quick and accurate keyboard skills

Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in Industrial Relations, Social Sciences or Economics is desirable.
