Communications Coordinator

Located in Mascot, The Australian and International Pilots Association (AIPA) is a professional member organisation (union) of around 16 staff/consultants and 9 Executive pilot members, representing over 2000 professional Qantas group pilots.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Communications Coordinator to join our team and be responsible for all outgoing communication to our members, across a variety of platforms, in concert with contributing departments. The successful candidate will possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, be able to multitask and prioritise (sometime conflicting) deadlines, proficiency across digital media platforms, and enjoy being part of a small professional (and very friendly) team. Our offices are well resourced, modern and close to transport.

Responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with contributing departments to deliver high quality, accurate content across a variety of media and platforms including websites, apps, social media, SMS, magazines, pamphlets, newsletters and marketing material (both digital and printed).
  • Maintaining and updating content and monitoring performance of the Association’s website and apps (training provided).
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance the Association’s membership offerings such as member benefits and marketing.
  • Editing (occasionally drafting) correspondence and other communications
  • Coordinating advertising for AIPA’s quarterly magazine
  • Ability to interpret and report analytics across a variety of social/digital platforms
  • Assisting with producing surveys and collation of results
  • Media monitoring

Experience required:

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years in a similar role.
  • Maintaining website & app content, social media management.
  • Collating content from contributing departments, liaising with external publishers and advertisers to produce magazines, newsletters and marketing material.
  • Highly proficient in general software applications (including Microsoft Office & Adobe CS)
  • Experience within aviation or membership services is desirable (but not essential)
  • Relevant tertiary qualification highly regarded

This position is full time, permanent.
