CFMEU Legal Officer Sherri Hayward explains how insurers are ripping workers off the take home pay due to the poorly written 2012 Mike Baird Workers Compensation laws.

Just when you thought getting injured was insult enough the laws surrounding what you get paid are so complex that virtually no one can work out what you should get paid after getting injured. The only problem with this is that the only type of pay that you get is less than what you got before. There are statutory guaranteed cuts to your pay from day one and if you happen to get allowances, penalty rates or overtime expect more pain in the wallet.

Sherri Hayward combines her passion to help workers, industrial and workers compensation knowledge to explain in her presentation why the PIAWE system of weekly payments is broken and hurts injured workers.
