REPORTS:

1.  Gonski Campaign

Com. J. Dixon (NSWTF) spoke and said:-

"The NSW Teachers Federation has stepped up its campaign for full funding for Gonski. At our last executive meeting, Chris Bowen, Shadow Treasurer, has committed to fund the full Gonski.  We know that this funding is needed.  Already we have seen improvements in schools that have received previously committed Gonski funding.

I can also say that the State Liberal Education Minister has come out publicly to support our campaign.

Our campaign will continue until we stop these cuts!"

The Secretary, Com. M. Morey moved:-

"That the report be received and noted".

Com. J. Dixon (NSWTF) seconded.

2.  Chemist Warehouse Campaign

Com. P. Davies (Prof. Aust. spoke and said:-

"Pharmacists are the lowest paid health professionals in Australia.  They are required to have a five-year university degree and professional indemnity insurance because of the important responsibility of their job.

We have been campaigning in major pharmacy retailers including 'Chemist Warehouse' which is the lowest paying pharmacy chain.

As a result of our campaign, so far, we have increased membership by 55% and we have forced Chemist Warehouse to commit to maintain penalty rates despite the Fair Work Commission's decision to reduce penalty rate minimum rates.

I want to thank Unions NSW and other unions for their support with this campaign and we welcome your ongoing support with this campaign."

The Secretary, Com. M. Morey moved:

"That the report be received and noted".

Com. P. Davies (Prof. Aust.) seconded.
