Union Organiser

Are you a self-motivated individual who is passionate about the rights of working people? Are you looking for a unique role which combines travel, leading negotiations and organising workers to achieve collective outcomes? 

The Collieries’ Staff and Officials Association (a Division of Professionals Australia) is currently recruiting an Organiser based in our Sydney Office, to represent our growing Queensland coal membership.

The successful candidate will be joining an organisation that is committed to improving the safety and working conditions, and strengthening the voice of Staff and Officials in the Black Coal Industry.

You will drive our membership growth activities, including supporting our delegates and educating members about their workplace rights. The position also involves some provision of assistance and advice to individual members.

Applicants should have demonstrated organising skills, good communication skills, initiative, a commitment to Trade Union principles, and enthusiasm for further increasing our membership and supporting our delegate networks.  Regular travel to Queensland will be required as part of the role.

An attractive remuneration package including a motor vehicle will be negotiated with the preferred applicant.
