The New South Wales Nurses and Midwives’ Association (NSWNMA) represents the industrial and professional interests of nurses and midwives in government and non-government sectors in New South Wales.  With over 61,000 members the NSWNMA is one of the largest unions in Australia.


About the Position


The NSWNMA is seeking expressions of interest from candidates who have knowledge and experience with corporate records and information management practices in both electronic and paper format. In this position you will be responsible for upholding a high level of recordkeeping while contributing to the development, implementation and delivery of records and information management practices within the NSWNMA. You will also be responsible for conducting training workshops in the use of the information and records management system.


To be considered for this position you will require:


  • Tertiary or relevant qualifications in records and information management.

  • At least 5 years experience working in a recordkeeping environment, with knowledge of relevant information and records management legislation, associated policies, standards and procedures.

  • A high level of experience managing records and information in both electronic and paper environments through the use of relevant software packages (e.g. RecFind, DB TextWorks).

  • Knowledge and experience in managing records in private and professional associations would be desirable.

  • The ability to develop, interpret and apply information and records management practices, including functional analysis, preparation of disposal authorities and internal business classification schemes.

  • Experience in developing and documenting internal information and records management policies and procedures.

  • A high level of both interpersonal and written communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to engage and liaise with stakeholders, and build networks with staff at various levels of the Association.

  • The ability to plan, produce and deliver, in consultation with the Coordinator, training programs that are associated with recordkeeping and information management.

  • A collaborative work ethic that supports the daily operations of the centre and a willingness to actively participate in team projects and provide relief support where necessary.

  • Experience in the preparation and administration of a budget.

  • A high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically Microsoft Excel.
