$140,333 per annum + super + 12 RDOs


The New South Wales Nurses and Midwives’ Association (NSWNMA) is a trade union that represents the industrial, professional and legal interest of Nurses and Midwives in NSW.


We seek a full time senior manager for the Employee Relations and Payroll team.


Through engaging team members and connecting with other senior managers, this position is responsible for developing, implementing, evaluating and managing the Employee Relations requirements of the Association in accordance with Association strategies, policies, objectives and legislative requirements.


The key responsibilities include:


  • Oversee and participate in the end to end recruitment for vacant positions within the agreed timeframe and in accordance with EEO principles
  • Define and develop workforce planning for all positions with the NSWNMA
  • Act as a resource for Managers and staff on employee relations and industrial relations issues
  • Manage Workers Compensation, Injury Management and Work Health and Safety
  • Ongoing review of Induction and Orientation
  • Identify training and development needs
  • Establish and oversee the development and maintenance of a HRIS database and ensure policies and procedures are developed and updated
  • Ensure all payroll deadlines and statutory requirements are met




  • Recognised qualification in Human Resources/Industrial Relations or equivalent
  • Micropay Meridian or similar HRIS system
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary Employee Relations practice and legislation
  • 5 - 7 years experience in human resources with the ability to work autonomously
  • Supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated level of highly developed written and verbal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines
  • Must be numerate, analytical and have an excellent attention to detail
  • Must be task focused, reliable, energetic and positive
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously
  • Commitment to the trade union movement




  • NSW Drivers Licence
