The New South Wales Nurses and Midwives’ Association (NSWNMA) represents the industrial, professional, educational interests of nurses and midwives in government and non-government forums at state, national and international level. With over 61,000 members the NSWNMA is one of the largest unions in Australia.

 

The NSWNMA is seeking applications to fill the position of Organiser or Bargaining Campaigning Officer within the Strategic Industrial and Bargaining Team (SIBT).

 

In this role you will:

 

  • Build union power through systematic organising.

  • Identify and develop activists, often within the tight timeframe of bargaining campaigns.

  • Recruit members utilising recruitment strategies and face-to-face conversations.

  • Develop and implement formal organising plans through conducting collective bargaining campaigns and/or maintenance organising campaigns in strategic target companies, according to the portfolio of work you are allocated.

  • Contribute to the NSWNMA’s goals to achieve collective outcomes.
