The increased prevalence of digitally enabled, gig-based work is actively fragmenting labour standards and disintegrating traditional jobs into short term tasks with no employment safety nets.

Unions NSW has produced a case study into the employment practices and conditions available to workers who use the online platform known as Airtasker, you can read the release around the report here.

This report reveals Airtasker has used the cloak of innovation to reintroduce archaic labour practices, circumventing minimum wage rates and removing employee safety nets.
