April 28 is the International Day of Mourning or the Workers Memorial Day to remember those workers who have been killed at work or because of their work

 

Blacktown- Blacktown Council unveiling of memorial statue

Thursday 28 April  at 9.30am-10.30am

Reflection Pool, (near café) Blacktown Showground

 

Sydney CBD- Unions NSW and Safe Work NSW will be hosting the official state memorial.

Thursday 28th April 2016  commencing 11:45am for 12:00 noon service.

Reflection Park, Little Pier Street, Darling Harbour  (beside Sydney Entertainment Centre)

 

Central Coast- Hosted by Central Coast Unions Alliance-

Thursday April 28th at the Ourimbah Wall of Remembrance, 8 Chittaway Road, Ourimbah at 11:45am for a 12pm service.

Future circulars will include information on:

a)      Newcastle, Illawarra and other council events
b)      How workers who cannot attend a local event can run an event in their workplace;  
c)      The social media strategy for International Workers Memorial Day; and
d)      Unions NSW Special Council Meeting
