Exploited Youth: No Sign of Improvement
By Thomson and LRA News
The work situation has "deteriorated to such a degree" for young workers in South Australia tat the state should be "ashamed", SA Unions said in its introduction to its 2005 Dirt Cheap and Disposable survey.
SA Unions secretary said the report "uncovered "an appalling picture of abuse, harassment, mistreatment and unfairness".
In NSW, ACIRRT's Young people at Work Survey 2005 provided another gloomy picture.
Issues included underemployment, unemployment, underpay, unauthorised pay deductions, poor working conditions, lack of paid leave, lack of access to training and abuse of the training systems.
