The Australian Services Union NSW & ACT (Services) Branch is looking to employ an experienced Digital Producer responsible for building our digital story- the digital reach, ‘brand’, and online organising capacity of the ASU - NSW & ACT.

The position suits people with online advocacy experience. While training will be provided, candidates with experience, who are able to hit the ground running are ideal.

Candidates with experience in online campaigning or experience with organising are preferred. The successful candidate will be able to communicate data trends and provide recommendations to the Digital Team - what messaging is working, what isn’t and what improvements are needed.

A competitive remuneration package, commensurate with experience, will be offered to the successful candidate.

Key aspects of the role:

  1. Content Creation: Work in collaborative campaign structures that oversee the production and distribution of content for communication through online and social media channels.
  2. Training/Capacity Building: Work with the Digital Team to produce high-level content, based on social, web and advertising data.
  3. Message Design & Development: Work in collaborative campaign structures to design narratives that underpin online organising and community development. Execution will encompass all online communication mediums — especially email, social media and video.
  4. Reporting, Tracking and Program Evaluation: Defining growth goals and executing a measurable plan for expanding the digital assets of the ASU - NSW & ACT as well as producing regular reports on digital actions and digital asset growth.

Essential:

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Digital Producer, Digital Analyst or similar
  • High-level digital fluency, including knowledge of and experience with: NationBuilder or similar CRM, Survey Monkey, WordPress, Google Analytics, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop user experience journeys that lead users to take an action
  • Demonstrated success maintaining and growing social media assets
  • Ability and desire to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Experience liaising, working with, and managing relationships with affiliated organisations and external vendors
  • Email and website optimisation through testing, including A/B and multivariate
  • Experience with designing and purchasing targeted online advertisements
  • Experience with statistical analysis and report generation
  • HTML, PHP and CSS knowledge
  • Advanced skills with spreadsheet tools
  • Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail
  • Experience building micro-sites for progressive organisations
  • Commitment to the Australian Union movement

Desirable:

  • Experience in political campaigning or not-for-profit campaigning
  • Experience in online fundraising
  • Web development skills
  • Competency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Photoshop
