The Information Services Officer provides timely accurate advice to all members of the Union; and communication and support internally.  This is a key role within the Union, requiring an outstanding communicator, who is passionate about professionalism in a call centre. This role is a 3 month temporary role, working 20 hours per week, with the possibility of an extension of time depending on Union needs.

Essentials skills:

  1. Must be an excellent communicator with highly developed interpersonal skills and an attitude conducive to optimum customer satisfaction.

  2. Ability to deal effectively with a variety of people, both customers and staff. Highly developed in interpersonal communication skills.

  3. Must have a proven aptitude for customer service in a high volume telephone traffic environment.

  4. Conflict resolution, listening and problem analysis skills.

  5. Personal skills to be customer oriented, self-motivated, self-assured, self-disciplined, enthusiastic and have an eye for attention to detail.

  6. A demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and to work unsupervised.

  7. Computer literate with intermediate skills in word, excel, data bases and electronic mail systems.

  8. Demonstrated understanding of and ability to deal with equal employment opportunity, discrimination and harassment issues.

  9. An understanding of WH&S issues relating to the workplace.

  10. Commitment to Union principles and involvement in the Union movement.

  11. Debt collection experience.
