To:  Public Sector Unions

Many unions have reported procedural difficulties when bargaining within the NSW Government Sector. Issues include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Agencies commencing the bargaining process with insufficient time before an award expires;
  • Agencies not being responsive to developments during bargaining as a result of inflexible bargaining parameters;
  • Agencies being unable to bargain effectively due to difficulties in the approvals process; and
  • Blame shifting and a lack of accountability between agencies, the Wages Policy Taskforce, and Public Sector Industrial Relations.

Unions NSW is seeking to identify and address logistical issues that exist within the current bargaining framework.

Affiliates that bargain within the NSW Government Sector are asked to send an industrial officer or elected official to represent them.
