Trade unionists from across the State have joined an Australian Services Union-led protest against $1 billion in community services cuts, rallying at the electorate office of Malcolm Turnbull.

Unions NSW Secretary, Mark Morey said cuts over the last three years were cruel and were impacting society’s most vulnerable.

“Trade unionists from across NSW are proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with the people who will suffer most from the Coalition’s cruel cuts to community services.

“Community sector workers keep the fabric of society together, helping the homeless, people living with mental illness and those dealing with family violence.

“Budget cuts have already made these jobs harder to do and the long term consequences will be broad and deep.

“As a community, we need to show respect for the workers who do jobs many of us would find highly stressful. They deserve our support.”
