Save Mt Druitt Pool

Save Mt Druitt Pool

Most residents are feeling confused! Didn't we have the opening party last summer? Unfortunately the long term future of Mt Druitt Pool isn't guaranteed. Blacktown Councillors will again be voting either on 20 May or 4 June. Either way, we want to show there is widespread support to KEEP the pool open. Please sign the petition today and pass onto your friends.

To: Councillors of Blacktown Council

Thank you for re-opening Mt Druitt pool. As you vote to determine the future of Mt Druitt pool, here are ten good reasons why we love the pool:

  1. Affordable and accessible for local families.
  2. Close to public transport and parking.
  3. School children from over the 35 schools use the pool for Learn to Swim and Carnivals.
  4. Water safety programs including Lifesaving courses.
  5. 13,800 school swimming scheme visits occurred in 2012/13 season.
  6. Beautiful trees and lawns provide the space for parties, picnics and BBQs.
  7. An outdoor venue for cultural and community events.
  8. Healthy living programs such as Aqua Aerobics and Aqua Zumba.
  9. Rooty Hill RSL Youth Swimming Club have used the pool since 1975.
  10. The pool is heated to 28 degrees Celsius allowing a wide range of activities

We urge you to keep Mt Druitt pool open.
