On Monday 1 June, as we celebrate the International Day of the Child, we are spitting the dummy about the Government's cuts to paid parental leave at 1:00PM, 100 Mount Street North Sydney.

Encourage your members to attend by sending them an email or posting the attached shareable on Facebook. Please also send a delegation from your union office.

They can join with mothers, fathers, babies, toddlers, grandparents and community members outside the office of Federal Treasurer, Joe Hockey, to show that we won't stand for cuts that deprive parents of precious bonding time with their new babies.

Tony Abbott promised a rolled-gold Paid Parental Scheme. He broke that promise and has now gone even further by robbing 80,000 new Australian mothers of up to 18 weeks with their newborns, while calling them “double-dippers”, “frauds” and “rorters”.

We want to make it clear to Tony Abbott and Joe Hockey that we won’t forget this slap in the face for working mothers and we need your help!

Bring your dummies and your baby or toddler and let’s make it clear that Tony Abbott and Joe Hockey’s attacks against working women won’t stand.

See you there!
