Industrial Officer: Work Health and Safety & Workers’ Compensation AMWU
NSW/ACT

The position is a 6 months role with review at the end of the 6 months.

Reports to: State Secretary NSW/ACT, Assistant State Secretary NSW/ACT
Location: Granville NSW


Job Role: Coordinate and resource all activities covering WHS and workers compensation
for AMWU NSW/ACT. Other industrial activities will be required from time to time.
The position works as part of a team of skilled and experienced industrial officers/organisers
who are located in Granville, Wollongong, Newcastle and Albury.


The Work Health and Safety & Workers’ Compensation Officer undertakes the training of
HSRs including 5 day course for new HSRs and HSR refresher courses.


Travel within NSW and some interstate travel required.


Certificate IV WHS and Certificate IV Training and Assessment (current) essential.


Working knowledge of NSW OHS and Workers’ Compensation Act, current driver’s licence
essential.

Knowledge of Australian Capital Territory and Comcare WHS and Workers’ Compensation
Acts desirable.
