About Us
The New South Wales Teachers Federation is the registered trade union representing NSW public school teachers in pre-schools, infants, primary and secondary schools and TAFE Institutes. The NSW Teachers Federation looks after a multiplicity of issues on behalf of teachers. It also regards public education as a strong foundation for a sure future. Thus, it campaigns for betterments for all students who attend public schools so that they will receive a quality education.

About the Role
Federation is recruiting to our register of casual staff. This register will be used to fill short term administrative vacancies across the organisation.

About You
To be considered you will need to clearly demonstrate the following essential skills and experience:

  • Computer skills, a minimum of intermediate MS Office and working knowledge of database applications; with relevant 3 years or more experience in office administration
  • High level listening, oral and written communication and experience in drafting and compiling information for correspondence, including the ability to absorb and understand information and relay information to other parties
  • Strong planning/organisational, time management and prioritisation skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy team environment while meeting deadlines
  • Respect for sensitivity and confidentiality of issues handled; high degree of tact, diplomacy and political awareness
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to learn Federation rules, policies and procedures and apply these
  • Positive attitude to unionism

In addition to your professional administrative skills, your ability to be flexible and adaptable within ongoing but changeable assignments is desirable.
