About the Role

NSW Teachers Federation has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the full time position of Section Coordinator in our Senior Officers section.

The role is responsible for coordinating the workflow and supervising the administration support staff. It also coordinates Annual Conference meetings, monthly Council meetings and fortnightly meetings of Executive, the preparation and circulation of papers, minutes, meetings, distributes decisions and coordinates the implementation of all decisions in order to allow the decision-making bodies of the Federation to function smoothly and efficiently.

About You

In this position, you will support the organisation by supervising the sections administration support staff whilst also planning, directing and coordinating the Section’s operational requirements.

To be considered you will need to clearly demonstrate the following essential skills and experience:

• Demonstrated ability to lead an experienced team of administration support staff.
• Office administration working at a senior management level, including the ability to take minutes.
• Computer skills, in particular advanced MS Office and knowledge of database applications.
• High level listening, oral and written communication skills and experience in compiling of correspondence.
• Planning and organisational skills and the ability to work in high pressure situations.
• Ability to prioritise competing deadlines, multitask and utilise strong time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Respect for sensitivity and confidentiality of issues handled.
• A high degree of tact, diplomacy and political awareness as well as a positive attitude to Unions.
