The NSW Government made massive cuts to our workers compensation system in 2012. As a result 4,000 workers were cut off income support on Boxing Day 2017, even though they were still injured and/or unable to find suitable employment. Most of these workers will be cut of coverage of medical care this year. A 2018 Report reveals the Government is sitting on a workers compensation surplus of $2.4 billion, which is growing annually. This money should be restored to the injured workers. The NSW Government should take immediate steps to fix this injustice and reverse the cuts to workers compensation.
